I'm in such a RUT.....and I can't seem to get out!

Well, miss "happy go lucky" over here is in such a rut. I just can't seem to shake it. I've let my house go, the laundry go, and haven't even had a desire to cook. Now, if you know me, this isn't me! I love doing housework, making my house look beautiful, cooking for my family, making everyone "happy." My life is so blessed....wonderful family, friends, church family...then what on earth is wrong with me? I know I have to "roll with the punches," as my mom always told me, but I just feel like my whole world is closing in on me, crazy huh?

I'm not a person to get depressed, or sad. Yes, I get sad, but always look on the bright side. I had a good upbringing....I'm very positive! Today I'm not......I am a blessed person with a great family. My hubby loves me to the fullest, I have 2 great kids who love (and take advantage of) their mom. Then why on earth do I feel this way? Maybe it's my turn in life to be unhappy for a while.

Please dear blogger friends, don't judge me. I need to get through this without any harsh comments, and you all know who you are! Pray for me, love me, and I will be "back" soon. I've always written about my feelings, dark or light, so today they're dark. Love me anyway.

Liz I love you girl for being so honest. You are such an encouragement and blessing to me. I have been in that same rut here lately. Please stay connected to us and keep posting. I will be in prayer for you daily. Praise God He loves us where we are at and right now I am praying for Him to have His loving arms around you.

Oh Liz - I will pray. I have been down that road before. It is very hard and people who haven't been there really don't understand.

I remember my son O's first Easter - I was miserable and for no concrete reason - perfect everything - I was just like you described though, despite everything being perfect. For me, it was in fact depression. When I went to the doc and got help for it - it was like water for my desert soul. Actually, I think I might have shared that experience that day you came to my house for coffee if I remember right.

Anyway, I'm not trying to talk all about "me" here, but just to say, what you are describing is EXACTLY how I felt when I was diagnosed with depression.

I'll be praying for you friend.

((Hugs))

Try not to be so hard on yourself. We all have days when we feel awful and sad and give yourself permission to have them and let the house go. Glad you enjoyed your walk. It was probably good for you to get alone for once!

Liz.. I love you. you are a great friend and a great Mom! I know you love to take care of your house and your family and friends and everyone, you are very nurturing! I think what you need is for this rain to stop for one thing! And for you to get a little nurturing of your own.
don't run around like one of your chickens trying to get everything done. the laundry room does not have to be void of all dirty clothes before bed each night! listen, I tell you in love because you are my friend, relax a little! you need to breathe. don't worry, no-one is judging you, we have ALL been there( and still return there sometimes). If there is anything I can do to help you, or just to lend an ear, I am here, ok?
we should go out to dinner-or lunch, you and me one night soon!

No one, absolutely NO ONE can be happy and positive each and every moment of each and every day. No matter how great your marriage or perfect your home or solid you are with Christ...life happens. At those times you should nurture yourself with the things that make you feel the most comforted. Being human beings, we are very imperfect but yet we strive for perfection. It's a race we will never, ever win. Only God is perfect and I don't see Him giving up His job anytime soon.

So do what makes you feel safe and cozy and warm. Lick your wounds. Sing a sad song. You will feel so much better after you've given in to what is a normal urge and emotion.

Sending you tender thoughts...

Liz I was just checking in on you and how things are going this week. Sometimes when I get down and can't get anything done I remember what my grandma Grogan used to say, "That house work will be there to do when we are all gone so get out and enjoy life." Get out and enjoy the spring days!

Praying for you!
